Boots 'n' Gloves - Football / Hockey / Rugby & Boxing Clubs

For clubs where there is a lot of sweat or water/mud going onto the equipment (boots, gloves & head-guards) it is essential to get these dry before the next use not only for the comfort of the wearer but also for hygienic reasons also. Correctly drying these items will also ensure that they have a longer life which in the long term will save money and ensure that the boots/gloves/head-guards once "worn in" will fit correctly for longer. Ensuring that the kit is dry is one thing, but you can't keep drying it without the leather drying too much and cracking or becoming brittle. Ensuring the right level of humidity is how this is done along with air flow and some heat to help speed up the process.

By reducing moisture levels down you will also remove required moisture for bacteria to multiply - it is this moist environment which leads to mould and smells being produced - so having a drying room / cupboard is the perfect solution to dry - odourless - well maintained boots, gloves and headguards.

Drying Room Solutions UK are able to offer a wide choice of solutions for your needs, depending on what space you have available it may mean that we are only able to offer a drying cupboard rather than a whole drying room. Drying Room Solutions would tailor each solution to best fit your requirements.

We can either do the installation of the system or explain it to you how to do it, we are super flexible and listen to customers requirements to ensure we offer the most suitable package based on a number of factors - price, requirements, size, location, speed of drying.

Drying Room Solutions use a range of AlorAir dehumidifiers which can either be floor standing, ceiling hung or wall mounted depending on what you are after and the requirements. A great little unit is the IW-25-2 wall mountable dehumidifier, with a 25L per day output and sensor it is able to remove moisture from the environment. It can be housed between studs of a stud wall or housed individually, it has a powerful fan motor to suck the wet air in and push dry air out. The unit is adjustable but has a hidden settings section so it is perfect for cupboards or small rooms, as the controls are hidden you control the unit therefore not allowing for easy adjustment of the setting by unauthorised persons!!

For the smaller rooms/cupboards we can also add a small heater to assist in and speed up the dehumidification/drying process.

If you are after a larger drying room then a Wall or Ceiling mounted unit may be the best way to go as these can be mounted out for the way - we have these too in the form of the Sentinel HD55 and larger HDi90. These units can sit out of the way controlling the humidity, either up high or in a separate room as they can be ducted to and from, they are quiet but powerful also with a sensor for controlability. The HD55 and HDi90 models also have the ability to be controlled remotely for even more control over the environment.

We would often advise for more air movement in the larger rooms and can link our air movers to the dehumidifiers so that when the dehumidifier turns on so does the fan - stirring up the air. The whole system turns off when the gloves and boots are dry (correct level of humidity has been reached) ensuring a more economic system. The Zeus 900 or Zeus Extreme air movers are the ones we like to use as they have a rotary moulded body (no rust) and are robust and economical to run.

Should you require a solution where you may want to move the dehumidifier from room to room or location to location then we have a variety of dehumidifiers we would suggest. The Storm range has 3 great units which would be perfect to remove a lot of moisture, these are the Storm Pro 70L, the Storm LGR Extreme 85L and the Storm Ultra 90L units. Both the Pro and Ultra are floor standing and easily movable with wheels and the Storm LGR is more compact and stands on the floor. They all come with a built in pump and so don't need emptying. They will turn on and off depending on the set point to control the relative humidity within your room to ensure a dry environment and dry clothing. By reducing the humidity you are also reducing the chance of mould which can make rooms smell musty and is of course unwanted.

Special carbon filters can be fitted to each unit to further assist in odour control for the drying rooms - please ask about them.

Cleanshield HEPA 550 Air Scrubber

If you have a greater problem with odours, or air quality why not look at adding the Cleanshield HEPA 550 Air Scrubber this unit helps control odours and will remove VOC's and small airborne particles through a 3 stage filter system including a HEPA filter and an Activated Carbon Filter. Speed adjustable and quiet, lightweight (18Kg), robust and easy to use. We can link this unit to a timer switch allowing for easy control and running of the unit - the additional air movement also helps lift the moisture from clothing assisting in drying times being reduced.
